Establish a Comprehensive Monitoring Framework

Governance Structure of the Elections in Africa (EIA)

Executive Committee

  • Responsible for overall strategic direction and decision-making for the EIA.
  • Comprised of key leaders from member countries, regional organizations, and stakeholder organizations.
  • Approves budgets, major policies, and oversees the operations of the EIA.

Steering Committee

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the EIA.
  • Comprised of representatives from member countries and key stakeholders.
  • Implements the strategic direction set by the Executive Committee and manages resources.

Regional Coordinators

  • Appointed to oversee EIA operations in specific regions of Africa.
  • Coordinates activities at the regional level and ensures compliance with EIA policies.
  • Provides support to member countries within their region.

Country Coordinators

  • Appointed to oversee EIA operations in individual countries.
  • Coordinates activities at the country level and liaises with local stakeholders.
  • Ensures smooth implementation of EIA programs and initiatives.

Program Managers

  • Responsible for implementing specific programs and initiatives within the EIA.
  • Plans, budgets, and executes programs in line with the organization’s objectives.
  • Reports to the Country or Regional Coordinators as appropriate.

Field Officers

  • Implement on-the-ground activities related to EIA programs.
  • Liaise with local communities, organize events, and support Program Managers.
  • Report to the Program Managers or Country Coordinators as appropriate.
